Koigu Wool's new color card now has 92 colors.
The segments in the new color card include the "Crayons" (the primary
colors), "Off Whites" perfect for the newborn, the "Very
Berry" mouth watering colors, many choices of blue in "Sky Blue,"
as well as gold "Autumn" and "Forest Green." The
"new palette" is a rich and luscious color addition to the other
colors of Koigu dyes.
Dye Codes & Dye lots: Koigu Painter's Palette
Premium Merino is hand painted. All dye lots are one of a kind (no two are
the same). Dye code # will give a similar color combination to the
previous dye lot. Dye lot # - yarn from the same dye lot. Each dye
lot is its own "painting" original.
Understanding Koigu Dyeing: Maie Landra's approach to hand painted
yarn - the yarn is a canvas and she paints the yarn as a watercolor
painting. This is why one dye code's dye lot may come out different from
the previous dye lot. Koigu does not dye reproduction art, they are all
original pieces of work. Presently Koigu has over 200 color way
combinations, some have only been dyed once (truly one of a kind). For
commercial purposes Koigu does dye similar dye lots within dye codes, but some
dye codes cannot be reproduced.
